Greetings for A – Different – Holiday Season
Amidst many uncertainties, there’s one thing we can be sure of – the 2020 holiday season will be very different. Remember December 2019? When we sent out the usual seasonal wishes, including a “happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year”?
Hmm – didn’t quite go as planned, did it?
I suspect we’ll express similar wishes this year, but in the rather desperate hope that the end of 2020 will point us to a brighter future. It should! Nothing goes on forever, not even a pandemic, and we do have vaccines on the horizon that should help turn things around in 2021. We will get through this together!
Sadly, in addition to the tragic loss of life, 2020 has left many businesses, large and small, struggling to survive. How should we, then, best celebrate the 2020/2021 holiday season? Optimistically, kindly, and simply.
Celebrations this particular Christmas may be very different from ‘normal’ years but we can adjust our expectations and enjoy simple pleasures; picking out a Christmas tree from a local farm, walking in the snow, sledding, enjoying more relaxed meals at home, getting take-outs, curling up with a good book/movie/box of chocolates (pick your personal pleasure!) and connecting with family and friends through Zoom or FaceTime.
Business wise, troubled times inspire us to get creative and think outside the box. Some business owners have done this remarkably well, adjusting to online sales and virtual meetings, or even changing the main focus of their business completely – admittedly, some types of business do make it easier to adapt than others. At Prompt Proofing we really appreciate all of our clients, and thank you for your continuing support.
We know some of our clients will be struggling this year, not only with their businesses but with the ongoing restrictions on socializing and travel. We empathize, we really do! We will celebrate separately – sadly – this year, in the hope that we will be able to celebrate with friends and family next year and for many years to come. But we will celebrate the season and we will wish all of our friends and family, and all of you – our customers – a very happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year – words that have taken on a special meaning this year.
Wishing all of you the very best for a safe, healthy holiday season and hoping that 2021 will indeed see the return of happiness, health, and prosperity! Stay safe, stay well!
